Walker "Percy" Badham III, Founding Parter - In Memoriam
It is with heavy hearts that we remember our dear friend and senior partner, Percy Badham. Percy was an incredible advocate but an even better person. Percy brought joy to the practice of law every day, and we miss him dearly. Percy’s outstanding accomplishments are summarized below, but we remember him as a friend, a mentor, and a source of inspiration.
Percy was a proud graduate of Davidson College, magna cum laude, and the University of Alabama School of Law, summa cum laude, where he was also an editor on the Alabama Law Review. Percy had a distinguished legal career. Before forming Badham & Buck in 2008 as its senior partner, Percy was a partner at Maynard Cooper & Gale.
Percy was a servant leader and received many honors over his career. He served as President of the University of Alabama School of Law Foundation and as Director of the Trial Academy for the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association. Percy received the J. Anthony “Tony” McLain Professionalism Award from the Alabama State Bar, which recognizes Alabama lawyers for distinguished service in the advancement of professionalism. He was also named to the University of Alabama School of Law Lawyer’s Hall of Honor. Percy was a longstanding member of the International Association Defense Council, and, as a young lawyer, he served as President of the Young Lawyers Section of the Alabama State Bar.
